U ever use Chevron Techron Fuel System Cleaner

I hrd this stuff is the best. SO good in fact, it can reduce valve noise.

Any comments? Anyone ever use it? The old-timers in my area swear by it for high mileage cars.

I noticed crappy fuel economy and ima use this stuff to cleanse my entire system.

a fuel system cleaner will have no effect on the valves.

Seafoam is the best anyway.

Its been awhile since I heard anything about Techron, but I do remember favorable reviews.

You can hear many opinions over many products , since there is no definite "response" you expect from using those injector cleaners...just my 2 cents....

The stuff says it cleans combustion chamber, intake ports and valves, fuel injector. says it even cleans deposits from gas guage sensors. use at oil change with a full tank of gas.

Right now im using fuel injector cleaner every two wks or so. I believe the stuff to work as preventative maintenace, like wiping down the cone filter every wk, and washing the car reguarly. Maybe im jus **** about keepin da maxi clean lol

it doesn't say anything about stopping valve noise, does it?

you can believe whatever you want, it doesn't make it real. Don't waste your money on that crap. really. the gas you buy comes with the detergents right in it.

i put this in my car whenever i cant find a shell to fill up at. i works the same as Vpower. its not going to clean your system in one fill up, if you already use 93 octane in your car that you shouldn't need "techron". but i do advise to use shell, cheveron, or texaco (same as cheveron) 93 octane. all my cars, both of my brothers and friend do notice a little improvement on MPG (10-20mi more on a full tank) and car runs cleaner...

I don't use anything else.

I've used it for years.

It is quite good effective.

Regardless of the grade or brand of fuel you use you periodically need to blow out the injectors.

Techron is a very effective means of doing it.

Won't do anything for valve noise however.

Look up Lucas oil and gas cleaner to. Truckers love it. When I used to work for Autozone truckers used to stay buying it. I used it for one of my old cars (oldsmobile 94 cutlass) and it stopped my class one oil leak. You can use whatever you want but the old products are still around for a reason. And no, im not old. Im only 27.

Techron got pretty good reviews when i did a little research.

However, when i looked up seafoam I got some mixed reviews. Most ppl were saying dont use it and others were saying it made no differnece with the car. Some ppl did say it helped but they were few and far between. I wd say 70% negative and 30% were positive.

Plus, i read how a person would have to apply the seafoam. And i must admit, the Techron is WAYYYYYY easier to apply and from what i read does the same thing, with the Seafoam plume of smoke out the exhaust hehe

Gotchya. It's prolly all in his head, or he doesn't know what vavle noise is.

And I am really surprised about the negative seafoam reviews. I guess you can never make everybody happy.

You only get smoke if you're cleaning the INTAKE (which Chevron doesn't clean).

If you just pour it in your gas tank, like Chevron, it's easy to use/apply.

Seafoam can be used in your oil. Pour in a half a bottle, drive 75 miles, replace oil and filter.

It can be used in your gas. Just dump the whole thing into a full tank and go.

And it can be used in your intake. Suck it in through the brake booster hose, shut off car, let sit for 15 minutes, and then rev/drive car HARD to burn off the crap.

I have never used the techron. I've always used Redline S1 and all my cars:

Well, for what it is worth, the wife's minivan had an injector that would stick open once on a while if she didn't put seafoam in the tank once a month.

Cheveron TECHRON UPDATE

SO u kno i had to try a bottle of this stuff over the wknd lol....

Yo man, this stuff WORKS. Jus like the bottle says. Car running smoother, cleaner and with better mpg.

No joke, i did a lil test run last night cuz over the wknd i was noticing vastly improved fuel economy. I drove 36 miles (34 of which was highway) and i swear my gas gauge didnt move an millimeter!!! I drove home the same miles and it moved a lil bit. Maybe used a gallon and a half or 2 gallons for the entire trip!!! I know, i can hardly believe it myself.

Im seein like 30+ mpg!!! and its been consistent since i put the stuff in.

I have the short ram intake and the racing bullet muffler. 5 spd

Idk how to explain but i recommend this stuff to anyone. It did wonders for my car. Ima re-fuel over the wknd without the chevron to see if the effects last. I let u know ...

I've used it but you should get real injector flush that the dealer does to the fuel system if you want long lasting results.

I agree....but IMO that should be dealer complimentary service. I wouldnt mind taking my car to the dealer for repairs if they did more courtesy service after completing repairs. u know, like a free oil change, or detail yur car, or free diagnostic after servicing. U kno, do SOMETHING extra. They charge all that money for labor and parts and dont do anything for free as a courtesy. U have to negotiate to get any extra services for free. And u always second guess whether they ripping u off. for that reason i rather see my mechanic cuz i can trust da guy AND he stands by his work

The fuel you get at the pump today has plenty of detergents already added to keep your fuel system clean. I've never poured anything into my tank, and 170,000 miles and 11 years later I get 30 mpg on a silky smooth running VQ.

True, there are some detergents/cleaners in the fuel we get at the pump. But I personally feel that you should still have a fuel system cleaning every now and then to get out when they leave behind.
