Finally got my Y pipe on

I finally got around to installing my Y pipe today. Man I love it already. It is a Warpspeed Performance one and is pretty good. I mean it does not have hisses and bee's or anything and is not loud which is exactly what I wanted.

The bolts though getting them off was a whole other deal. I had no idea that much rust could build up so fast on there. If your putting one in definantly start with the de-rusting spray nice and early. Like a week before and just keep laoding it up. Looked kinda nice too when I polished it up.

i bet it made a nice difference in power gain. a couple questions for you, since i'm looking to buy one myself soon.

how much more noise did it make?

did you feel the gain on low end power or high end power?

what other y pipes did you look at before you decided to buy this one?

thanks, that's awesome that you finally put it on.

That is what I was afraid of - too much noise. Really with my Stock muffler it is not bad at all. When you lean into it more you will hear some noise but nothing overbearable.

Low end Yes. High end I think so but it takes soem time for the gains to be reconfigured by the EU I was told. Gotta wait a few days for that.

Everything. I looked at Cattman, Stillen, Budget Exhaust. You name it.

You'll find that the Y pipe opens up the top end more. Accelerate hard in 3rd, 4th and 5th gear. You definitely feel it then

Let me know when you get some power gain. I am strapped for cash now and I really want to know how much of a difference it makes and if its worth the cash. Also, how much miles was on your car that it was so hard to remove the bolts, because ive got 102000 on mine, its gonna be a pain if i get one.

The bolts were a huge pain. Start way ahead of time by using something like Break Away or what not to get rid of some rust. Also make sure you have a few different extensions for the ratchet. You will need them Like 6 - 8 inch ones.

I just had a couple of those ramps you drive right onto. They raise tha car up about 18 inches that way. A little tight still but workable. Try picking up some of those though. In this case they were much better than jackstand because of the extra height the wheel put on. And make sure to always put a block behind the back wheels when doing this.

He didn't. He flipped the car over so he could install it from the top.

You will deffinetely feel instant gains the second its on and yes its worth the cash whether its its budget or a cattman. just be very careful with the bolts because one of mine got snapped off when putting the pipe on (no rust and 30k) so just make shure you dont over do it when you loosen or tighten the nuts cause manifold studs are a #$%^ to replace.

about noise- I have a stillen muffler and its pretty damn loud but not honda civic tin can loud.

I actually hate posts like the one I'm typing right now, but I had to. Thanks for waking me up this morning.
