how can i remove a/c vents?

how can i remove a/c vents?

anyone know how to remove the trim around the a/c vents? i don't mean the center ones. but the ones on the sides.

As far as I know, they are a part of the dashboard. When I get home, I will check out the Haynes manual and see what they say.

From an exploded view of the dash in my Chilton manual it looks like it's screwed in from behind. Looks like 2 screws (top and bottom). You'll have to access them from under the dash on the driver's side and after removal of the glove box to reach the passenger side ones.

The little grill in the front of the vent just pops out. I had to take it off because the little fins that direct air were out of wack.

Yeah I looked one day to try to remove them so that I could clean in there but the way it look is like it is a huge pain to get to. You can try it but good luck.

Use a Q tip to clean out the vents. They also make swabs on wood sticks that are longer, stronger with larger tips then q-tips.
A must have for the automotive detailer.

no screws. the whole unit just pops out. push up on the vents and pull out at the same time. put a little muscle behind it if you have it. it will come out.
