My max is going crazy!! Help!!!

I just did my conversion from auto to 5 speed, and usually when i stop at the light, the rpm would drop to my regular idle speed after about 2 seconds, which is about 800. now it will stay at the around 1500 and then finally if i get lucky..it'll drop down to 1100. while this is happening... my temperature gauge would go wild...it'll start jumping up and all the lights in my car would start dimming. anyone have any idea or suggestions???

Yeah, i commend you for doing the 5speed conversion man, that's really cool, i'm also sorry things aren't going quite as planned, but seriously, you don't need to post more than one thread about the exact same damn thing withing like ten minutes of each other.

Ok... Do you have the 5speed ECU?? It is a direct fit.. It will fix this problem and turn off your check engine light as well I think..

Re: grrr...

thats why im saying reset the ECU... air filter, or the sensors around it have made my car run poorly, resetting just let it read just its idle and whatnot. its worth a try.. it has fixed a problem or two for me before. i doubt it involves the swap, just the idle levels..

I think you need a new battery or you have a false contact on one of your battery pols, give that a try! and reset the ECU

Your alternator may be going. Get it checked...

You can also check it by starting the car let it run maybe 5 minutes or so then disconect the negative terminal while it is running. If the car keeps going it is fine if it shuts off the alternator is on its way out. Let it run without and altenator for like about 2 or 3 minutes to be sure.

Re: thanks!

No... Your alternator is probably dead.. Turn your car on and disconnect your negative lead.. If your car dies then bad alternator.. Bad batteries prevent starting.. If you have a bad alternator then your car will die while running..
