Ideas? Uncomfortable driver seat - cloth

I just purchased a 99 GXE. Love the smooth-shifting engine. However, I have been having a hard time getting accustomed to the driver seat. My back aches -- even when the lumbar adjust is set for full extension. Maybe this is just a brief transition thing.

Has anyone else had trouble with the Maxima front seats? Also, any good suggestion on easy fixes?

Thanks, in advance.

Re: NAhhh,

If you have a significant other, have him/her sit in the back seat and give you a back massage while you drive!!! Truckers & SUV drivers seem to notice

i haven't had a problem with the cloth seat in my '95. then again, the seat in my Max was a warm welcome after 10 years and 120,000 miles of sitting in the destroyed bucket seat in my '72 Olds with NO lumbar support and 29 year old shredded vinyl and foam everywhere.

I know EXACTLY what you mean. if i drive for over 45 minutes straight, my back is throbbing. My suggestion would be to change the settings on the seat. Do you have power seats? i'm sure if you fiddle with all the possible directions, you will eventually find something that is comfortable.

Yes that's exactly what I do. Similar to sitting in the chair, I just move around a bit from time to time to keep myself comfortable.
Maxima's seat is not too bad to me.

Did you know there were THREE lumbar support adjustmenst?! I'm embarrassed to say but I just first realized this this morning! One vertical up, one horizontal, one vertical down. For mine, the vertical down took so much effort, I never pushed that hard thinking there were only two. Lastly, what I find really comfortable is put the butt part down and the thigh part up. Not sure if you can do that on a non-power seat but if you can, try that. Anyway, good luck.

new seats

yeah, 4th gen seats are extremely uncomfortable, i had back pains on long drives. I've seen better buckets in some GMs.
I think 2k2 max has redesigned seats, I dunno if they fit?
Did anybody try them out?
