Wiring issues...

So I took my 98GLE to a stereo shop to install a bypass for my Alpine in dash DVD player. They got it to work, but the next day I drove to work, I noticed that the gauge lights are no longer lit up. I checked all the fuses, they are fine. Could the stereo being installed have interfered with the gauge lights? I'm not sure how it could happen, but the gauges don't light up anymore. All the other lights in the cluster work, the CES, low fuel, E brake, all that stuff lights up and the gauges work, they just aren't lighting up.

Any suggestions?

You made sure that you didn't set the dimmer switch to off right?

had the same problem when i installed my radio.

Ur Illumination fuse is blown in the fuse box. 7.5 Amp fuse i think. Its caused by improper radio grounding and the dimmer (orange) wire not being taped off

Make sure all wires behind the radio are taped off with electrical tape so they dont accidently touch a metal surface and create an unintentional circuit.

Second, there are two ground wires to the car behind the radio. I cant remeber which one to use but there is a combo that will work for proper grounding. I think avoid amplifier ground.

Buy a couple 7.5A fuses and try different combos till the guauges stay lit and radio and everything else works.

FYI, Best Buy dont know SH*T lol!!! Better off doin it urself.
