hey guys,
i'm in the market for a catback...i read what maximadriver said about the 3 top ones out right now:
"The Greddy unit is very popular, but offers a droning sound at around cruising rpm (~2.5k), which is quite annoying if you are trying to carry a conversation. The tip of the Greddy is roughly 4 inches in diameter. This runs retail for about $500, and can be bought for around $450. It's a well made product (stainless steel) and thus very popular."
"The Apex'i World Series cat-back is fairly new to the market was was originally named the "RS" series. The WS offers a nice big 4.25" tip and is fairly quiet. Retails for around $450, and can be purchased for as low as $380."
"The Stillen cat-back is available for roughly the same price as the WS, but i annoying loud, especially the muffler. Which gives out a "Bbbbbbbbeeeeeeeeeeeee" exhaust noise when you hammer the throttle. But if you're into that kind of thing, more power to you."
What do you guys have to say about these...personal expierences...i'm looking for an exhaust that sounds not stock when cruising and loud when stomped on...but i don't want a consistant drone that's just annoying...help me out???
thanx,
adrian

The Apex is nice, if you have a Y-pipe/cat it is somewhat loud, but a nice rumble, not much of a droning sound. Fittment was good, not great (it is really made for a 95-96). Quality is top notch. If you have a 97-99 you will need to mount the rear O2 sensor. Definaltly not anything like the stock exhaust....

YA isn't Warpspeed hookin us up with one soon too.
I look foreward to that, cause they know what we are lookin for, and hopefully can only improve upon what is already on the market.
According to that writeup none sound too appealing to me.
The choices we have to make. They can be so difficult.

WSP b-pipe
We have a shipment of our new b-pipes coming. It is "on the truck" so we will be posting when they arrive. For now it will be a bring your own muffler. We feel this makes more sense as some guys want a loud system and the next one wants quiet. In future we will offer several options of 304SS mufflers. As far as Cats, we offer them at low WSP prices. There is a lot of misconception reguarding flow. People over pay daily for RT cats, with little or no gain in performance over other brands. Call Dallas for particulars.
