First post: 1999 Nissan Maxima se

Finally get to post my Maxima. I bought it at 125,000 miles for $3400.

All black leather interior with a 5 speed manual. I have only put a cold air in it and tinted some lights.

Things had to replace
-clutch
-fuel regulator
-o2 sensor

Things I'm doing this week
-Get new front fenders (lots of rust)
-new smoked blinker lights
-Tint windows

Help on what exactly? The clutch I had my bros friend put in for $100 bucks and I did everything else myself.

Well can one of the mods move this to the members ride section thanks

Look at my last pic, you can see the little rust coming in on the front passenger door. Is that where your rust spot is?
Last owner did a crappy job trying to fix it.

the spot is by the drain hole lower left corner, not sure how it rusted through though. i think the only solution is to get a door from a junkyard and have it repainted
also not sure about your rear wheel wells but mine are rusting as well, another spot to check!

Looks like you need another antenna too. I don't see a satellite antenna (unless it's inside, or you just don't have sat radio yet).

Looks like a good starting point, I'd lower it, clean up the rusty spots, hard to tell with the snow dirt on it ...

I've already ordered fenders off ebay. I have the driver side right now and the other one is coming in a couple of days. Got them from ebay $120 for both.
Still looking on how much it is going to cost to paint them though.

slide them over to maco, i wouldn't trust them to paint a whole car but they did a very nice job on my fenders. of course "black" isnt hard to match color.

Disagree, it's as easy to mess up as any other color IMO.

Some days I just wanna sell my car for 4.5k and buy a car for under 3k and turn it into a monster...

Then I look at my car and smack myself for even thinking of parting with her.

drop the car and get a better looking exhaust lol.. i personally can't stand seeing those tiny little poles stickin out the back of a car.

and how come i see a lot of people complain about rust on their cars? i've seen people post about their passenger side bottom havin holes in it.. i checked my car out and i only have minor rust spots..

where should i look for rust?

my financial situation ain't too bright either but i manage to keep gas in the car.. a jobless college student at the moment :/
we need to find a way to ghetto rig the rust spots.. i'm gonna look around for a cheapfix for that.

i also gotta change my axles.. or just one. speaking of which, how exactly do i know which ones broken? i know for a fact one of them is clanking, but don't know how to tell. i haven't looked under the car yet either though, so it might be an obvious thing to spot, dunno.

well typically from what i hear axles make a "clicking sound." it would be easy to know which is bad if the boot was torn. clanking could be your sway bar endlinks (just shot in the dark).

im starting college in the fall myself...can't wait

i recently replaced one of my sway bar links.. it popped out on me so i know what it looks like, i'm positive it's my axel making the noise, just don't know which side.

college kicks ***, it's my 3rd semester now.

First off ... welcome! to the .Org

Second, wrong forum, this is 4th gen.

Third, oxy sens is E A S Y ... easy to replace.

Forth, since it's your first post, please use the 'search' section at the top of any of the pages. Very handy, just make sure you set it to 'Relevance' at the bottom.

Have a good day!

I got the new blinker lens. Not the best pics, but who cares. I also took off the plastic piece above the sunroof. Moved my license plate down.
I should be putting on 35% tint on this week.
Still trying to figure who can paint my fenders, but I might have a cousin that could do it.

Of course I get a car wash and the dam cat a day later felt like walking on the hood. You can see how pointless car washes are in the winter, it looks really dirty already.
