transmission slipping

i have a 99 i30t and especially when the car is cold, the transmission doesn't catch first gear (like it's idling in neut.) when i come up to a stop sign or a light. this is frustrating as even after the car has warmed up it happens occascionally. Could this be a sign of transmission problems? It's had a tune up already and trans oil flushed about 15k ago. it only has 117k. Any idea what the problem could be?

no engine lights are on either.

Have you checked fluid level, color and smell? Like B'Eaze asked, was your change a refill or a pressure flush done at a garage? Pressure flush can loosen debris from case and pan and it can get into valves of trans. Have you checked the FSM p. AT-74-76? This is a list of problems with prioritized causes. If you haven't d-loaded the FSM, there's a good reason.

OP don't do flush on a high milage AT,too much headache you might encounter...as others said, check the fluid level and quality,do simple drain and refill, note the amount drained if it's correct to refill with exactly the same amount ... use Amosil fluid....oh and clean the pan magnets
