I bought new bulbs for my headlights. They worked fine for about 5 days, but then one died. I pulled the bulb out and the bulb was fried. One of the prongs was totally black and the light no longer worked. I put my stock lights back, but I may get another pair of lights. How do you upgrade the harness? I've been told that you can pick them up at any auto parts store, but what specs do I need and how exactly do I do it? The harness runs into a ribbed covering. Do I disconnect something in there or do I get to do some soldering?
Thanks for the help.

Unless you're good with wiring>>

buy the harness kit.
JEGS has it.

Carparts.com also carries the harness from APC. It's great and a must for high wattage bulbs. It makes em a whole lot brighter. Definetly worth it.

Wasn't your problem here. The reason why the bulb blew out was because it was made poorly.

Getting the overwattage harness won't prevent bulbs from blowing, but will allow your system to handle higher wattage bulbs, safely and more efficiently. APC manufactures the harness, and it can obtained from Carparts.com, Jeg's or Autosydicate.

Buy higher quality bulbs...inspect them before you use them. Usually, what causes them to fail is that the bulb glass leaks the halogen gas out, causing the filaments overheat and burn out.
