Im gonna wire up a drop resistor and need to know if i cut one or both of the wires ( in the picture circled in red) and soldered them to a line leading to a switch if it would work as a toggle switch

Cut either wire and wire a switch in between the cut ends.

so if one side isnt connected to anything but the switch i can still keep the circuit closed or open looped?

One side goes from trans to resistor the other goes from trans to switch and switch to resistor.

The switch should be normally closed and only open at WOT.

Best way to set this up is a custom bracket with a micro switch bolted onto the throttle body so the switch only activates at WOT.
