Rim swap

I have a real quick question. I did search but I wanted to be extra sure of this issue before I preform it.

I plan on swapping my stock 96 maxima gle alloy rims and tires (16's) with my 2002 se maxima rims and tires. Is this going to be an easy swap or am I going to have alignment issues?

Also, will the 96 rims fit back on my 2002 maxima without any problems?

Both these cars are in the family and I wanted to know if this swap is at all possible. Thanks!

the 02 wheels will go on your 96 without any problems. I am not sure if the 4th gen wheels will clear the 5.5 gen brakes though

I think IIyak knows of a website that shows how different tire sizes will affect speedometer readings. U wanna get tires that are 1:1 with speedometer

Thanks. I have a lift so I might just use trial and error. But I will check some sites first before doing so.

they should fit, didnt the base models have 16's? or just try one up front and drive around the block and see if anything scrapes.

for 17's on a 4th gen 215/50/17 are the tire size that are the closest to stock speedo readings. i believe at 60 the tires rotation would put the car at 60.03, 235/45/17's put the car at 60.2...

thanks. I should be doing this next week. I guess I need a lift and a jack to swap tires. Luckily I have both. Next is to lower the max. Thanks!

Just do it ... Pull the wheels ... do the swap ... if the smaller rims don't clear the brakes YOU WILL KNOW. Get busy and get your hands dirty.
