Has anyone done this mod on a 96 max?

I just wanted to make sure it worked on the 96's since the tail lights are different and I plan on doing it this weekend.

 

cant believe the guy used duct tape to tape off the light housing and lights. looks pretty cool but i dont think you would get the same affect with a 95 96 because on the 97-99's you can remove the ambe cover. on the 95-96 its actually the light cover itself. it might look good with just the reverse light painted or maybe with the red/clears and paint the housing. if you look at the very last pic, it looks like that what someone did to the 95-96 maxima in the pic...

 

It won't have the same affect because your yellow light is not removable. The 96 in that picture has David l red clears

 

Whoa! for starters i was always told the tail light plastic was different and for one couldnt be baked to open up like headlights are often done to mod.
that alone gives me ideas which were previously going to involve a dremel..

and yes this looks good on thee 4th gen!

eh, i like my stock taillights thank you. seems like everyones acting like this is a new mod or something...

 

As do I, i just could do without the amber. Unfortunately, I dont want to spend $200 on cosmetics. Looks like I am stuck...

 

Red/Clears are only $80-$90 on ebay

 

There are the euro red/clears and the now hard to find David L version. I think the eBay ones are fugly but that's just my opinion.

I might be selling my David L's for $90 plus shipping soon once I get the chance to paint my other all clear set of tails.

OP, you're gonna need a set of David L's to make that mod look right.

 

i tinted my 96 tails so they are red and smoke cuz of the tint selling for 50 bucks

 

just buy some niteshades for about $12 and tint them yourself. you can control how dark you want it to be
