knocking under light throttle
knocking under light throttle
Hi there, i'm currently having a problem with my maxima (96), i can hear an audible knocking noise under a light throttle condition between 2000rpm and 3000rpm.
if i put my foot down a little further the knocking goes away and i've no problem with knocking under boost (i'm turboed).
it only occurs between 2000rpm and 3000rpm, i have tried and i can't get the same noise to happen at any other rpm range / throttle opening. I've gone into Emanage Ultimate and removed all ignition advance between that range however its still knocking. i haven't reduced the fuel going into the engine in emanage, the only thing i've done is added bigger injectors and set it up in emanage ultimate to convert injector pulse with from 240cc injectors to 440cc injectors. which was working fine.
Could this just be a bad batch of fuel? i don't recall filling the car up since the noise started, and i would have thought that would have caused knocking in boost more than part throttle?
Could it be a mechanical problem? its strange that just pushing the throttle down further or changing gears makes it go away?
something wrong with my fuel setup? although i've been running this fuel config for weeks and the knocking never really happend that i recalled (certainly not this bad)
Thoughts?
