Leather Swap Install!! (with pics)
So my friend (snowman89) has a 95 maxima with black leather then got into a rather unfortunate accident which lead him to buying a 97 maxima!
Only problem was his new one had grey cloth interior and he wasn't please with that.
So we decided to do a leather swap and take pictures of our progess.
It suprisingly did not take long, only like an hour and some.
One thing we tried to do was make the heated seats from the 95 work in the 97 by rigging the wires while still having power seats.
Unfortunately we could not make the seats move and have heat running to them, so the heat works but at the expense of the moving forward and back.
So here are some picture of the swap!
LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK!

Looks good but took you guys a bit long if the two of you were working. Do a search, there's a few threads on how to get the heated seats to work, I got mine to work thanks to the org, I believe the wizard was the one who posted pics and stuff

it took us that long because his 97 cloth seats didnt fit in his 95 car, it was a wierd matchup but his 95 leather fit in the 97. And the wiring process took alittle.

We got the heated seats to work, we didnt know they were on until a while down the road, lol. but for some reason the seats dont move, the both front seats are electronic but dont work. We are going to try a couple different things when we get the chance. I will check around though, thanks!

97 seats SHOULD match up on 95... I'm gonna go ahead and take a wild guess by saying these guys were exhausted and didn't realized the has the P side in the D side and vice versa lol

Looks good bro. I would not recommend a new carpet, the leather swap is really easy, new carpet was really really time consuming!
I bought the circuit breaker for the powered seats off a guy parting out Maxima's on this forum. Haven't installed yet however.

i'm plsnning on swapping my tan cloth seats for i30 leathers. i really wont care if the heated part of the seats worked, i wish there was a cooling system for the leathers seats for them hot summers...

I used stockcarinteriors.com but I think they are all the same. Nothing wrong with the company but its crap compared to the original. When you take the original out you will see the difference.
To put the new one in you will have to cut and trim, took me at least 10 hours including seat and trim removal and re-installation. They give you about 3 feet extra carpet on each dimension, so you can't really eyeball how much to cut off. Therefore installing it is a process of trial and error.
I think you saw it at the Valley Forge meet. It looks good but its crap quality.

A cooling system would be real nice, i would normally do without the heated seats but my boy really wanted them.

Why is it time consuming. When I did my swap it took me 4 hours..... I did a OEM swap, I guess you get what you pay for OEM FTW.
