I30 Door Handle Swap Help

So the handles are coming in a few days, and I want to be ready. Must the whole door panels be removed to install these? And I searched but could not find a working thread that had a how to or pics to help explain, thanks.

Yes you need to take the panels off to swap them out, they will not fit through the little opening and plus you need to unattach/reattach the metal levers that actually open the door.

Door panels come off in 5 mins though, they're really simple.

Yes you must remove the door handles so you can access the two levers that are connected to the handle. Remove one screw that is in the middle of the handle and replace. You should be able to do that easy.

I dont know if there is a thread on this or whatever im new at the maxima org. But if you look at your door panel there should be two bolts in the bottom of the panel. Remove those two. After that there is a bolt in the middle hole where you can put your hand in to close the door. There is a bolt there. Remove the trim around the door handle carefully. There are clips around it. Once you remove those items your ready to pull the panel outl. Once you take the panel out you can remove the plug that is connected to the light of the door panel (optional). Once removed you wanna remove a bolt that is in the middle of the door handle cant miss it. Then slide the handle forward to remove it from its place. Remove the two metal levers that are connected to it. Remember there spots so you can put back on the new handles. Then slide it into place and put the bolt back on. Connect the plug from the door panel light if you did removed it. Put panel back on with all the bolt and put the trim around the handle again. I think thats it lol if anything pm. I got you. Ill try to take pictures when I can and ill show you.

P.S Sorry for such a long story on how to replace it. Im at work typing it up from the top of my head.

From the howto sticky with pictures. I know it's easy to just skip stickies and I usually do too but the howto sticky is incredibly useful. Lots of nice links.

I had been wondering why my door handle would come halfway out of the door if I'd pull on it, turns out someone lost the nut for the lock once and then tried to fix it with glue. The nut was actually still inside the door lol it had fallen all the way to the bottom. Now I have a nice solid door handle the door is about ten thousand times nicer to pull on. If I find a good beige I30 in a junkyard though i ma have to consider swapping to the heavies.
