Does anyone know if the 4th gen and 5th gen use the same alternator? A friend of mine has a freshly rebuilt 4th gen alternator that he will give me if it works in my 5th gen. Before I rip out the unit from my car to physically compare, I would like to verify that they are the same thing.

According to Bosch they could be used in both cars. Just put them side by side and double check

 

correct me if Im wrong but dont the two have different belts?

the pully itself on the end cant be the same..... even if everything else was and probably is exactly the same
