Rubbing Problem on my stock wheels

Ok I have installed my suspension about three weeks ago. I installed kyb gr2 and tein s. tech spring with it. I put my suspension and everything was fine and loved it. Just two days ago I went to change my front two tires because they were so smooth like a babies a** lol DANGEROUS in the rain but whatever. They lifted the car up to remove both wheels and replace the tires. Once everything was done I started driving. All of a sudden when I did a right turn my whole front driver side goes all the way down and I rub as if my fender is about to break. It feels like im driving on blown struts but it cant be cuz there are not even a monthh old. Any reason why my car would go all the way down when I turn. It only happens on the driver side no where else. Need the help cuz its dangerous.

Would anyone know the cause of this to my suspension?

You might have blown that strut. Even though the set up is only a month old, those drop springs are way too aggressive for those stock replacement struts. That's most likely your problem.

That would suck if it is. We did my boys suspension almost a 1-1/2 ago and its the same set up and he is not even bad like me. Any other reason why? I would hate to purchase another strut. I cant return this one cuz its already been used.

I can't imagine what else it would be. It will probably be obvious when you take the wheel off and look at it. There will probably be oil that's leaked out of the strut, and it will be easy to compress by hand if the spring's not backing it up. Also, try the bounce test.

Could be the strut but first I would jack up the car and see if maybe its a splash shield or some piece or road debris before you jump to conclusions.

Well someone kept telling me to check the sway bar link but it seems fine to me. I dont see any torn or anything. This sucks a**. Idk if this has anything to do with it but my wheel is not centered in the wheel well. This car is a rebuild so i dont think this would cause the problem since it was fine.

I just re-read your original post, didnt realize that the suspension actually dropped...I thought that there was just rubbing when you turned the wheel.

Try checking your tie rods or your LCA's too.

Ok When I check the tie rod and LCA's what should I be seeing? Any type of torn things or rust or bent or broken. Well I know there is no rust but I will check for anything else. Ill come back as soon as i check it out.

Jus look to see if anythin is cracked or unbolted. jus compare the good side to the other.

O and u got GR2's. Yo man, strut blown. 2.2 in drop in the front too agressive. 1.5" or 1.8" max for tokico blues or GR2 my man.

Well I figure my boy has the same set up in his 99 se max and his just recently was blown after a year but his wont drop like mine. He doesnt even rub like crazy like I do and he has 18 with 245/40 tires. I gotta check whats going on. I know its a rebuild car but that shouldnt be the issue.....Well that I know of. Later im gonna check out the car. I got lift it and see whats up. Also my wheel is not centered in my wheel well any way of fixing that? Can that cause it?

When I did my struts I looked at everything and it seemed fine. Everything looked in place. Nothing looked bad either. The wheel if you look on the driver side it will be to far back towards the drivers door. So when I turn the wheel going left the wheel will rub the back side of the wheel all inside the plastic wheel well. It all starter when my car got lifted.

Pictures are in order, especially if you don't see the problem when you take the wheel off.

O right guys i didnt get a chance to lift the car and Check it out but just recently about an hour ago i told my girl to turn the wheel for me cuz i heard this noise like my tire is low. When she turned the wheel the while inside of the wheel is done. You can see the metal stitches coming out and made a small little hole also so my tire is running low. For the rubbing issue could it be the camber also ? This sucks a**

Did you not get an alignment when you lowered the car?

There is no camber adjustment on our cars (stock), and judging from the camber kits available, it probably didn't change more than a degree when you lowered it. Something in your suspension is loose or broken. You'll probably know what it is right away when you get the wheel off and get a good look at it.

Ok Idk WTF!!!!! but today when I was driving my car and I did a hard right turn my car did not drop at all like if the strut was blown or anything. It went back to normal. I didnt do anything. I didnt even get a chance to try to remove the wheel to even look what the hell was going on. Just wanted to keep yall updated cuz it got me confused as hell. Tuesday I wil be removing the wheel to see if there is anything un-usual. Loose or Broken or rusted or anything. After I look im gonna slap on some 17 to see what it does.

Just thought I would throw this out there, as I know in the past with vehicles that I have lifted, lowered or even just replaced the struts with oem that they require you to purge the air out of the strut/shock before install. Now, Im not sure if that is still a requirement for this style of strut (kyb gr2). Maybe when you were turning you may have hit an air pocket in the cylinder allowing it to lower a little more than it should.
IDK, just thought i would throw in my .02! Good luck anyways!
