bought warpspeed y pipe today and i have a question
Ok. today i bought a warpspeed y pipe and was wondering what i have to do to reset the ecu so you can actually gain the power your suppose to get after installing the y pipe. im jw because as i was searching around some people say that they felt no gain at all and others say they felt a major difference?
Your test pipe is what caused your "big sound". With a stock catalytic converter, the sound barely increases. My warpspeed only makes an increase in sound but only at a certain rpm. I converted from Cali to fed spec which I believe contributes to most of my volume gain. It will be MUCH quiter and sound way better than an exhaust system with 3 holes.

Same here, even with automagic the ypipe make gains everywhere in the rpm band.
Its a lot louder then stock exhaust but i can tell the difference each and every time I switch maximas.

well today i took i wanted to see if i could take off the nuts without snapping the studs on the manifold and surprisingly i didnt snap a single stud. it looked really rusted and i bet that those nuts havent been touched since they were put on at the assembly line. and that was 230 thousand miles ago. the only thing i couldnt get off were the nuts that connected to the cat. converter. guess i can just cut those off.
I have a car with 90,000 miles in California and broke one of those. Just try to get it off. When it breaks, grind it flush, drill 2 new holes and use the bolts provided.
You meant it isn't a lot louder? Am I the only one who thinks that it isn't that much louder?

Um, just a thought. To reset all the electronics usually you disconnect the battery for a good half an hour...
Which by the way if you were careful you should have done BEFORE beginning the install, and re-connected only after everything has been finished.
IMHO, never hurts to have no power in the system when ever you are doing anything besides taking off the wheels or changing the oil.

got and installed my y pipe today and it was pretty straight forward with the install except the getting the cat. converter to seperate from the stock y pipe was a b****!!. but after that it was real simple. when i first started it i was actually surprised how loud it was. it has a real deep growling sound to it but sounds pretty cool when i slam on the gas. as for performance gains i noticed a little but not to much. maybe the car hasnt adjusted to it yet?
A question, on ebay warpspeed is selling a number of different Y-Pipes, there is the cheapy 199, and the one with a high flow cat for 285. Question is, how big of a difference does the high flow cat make?
PS
EsQueue, that's what I mean :P you don't disconnect the power when changing oil or tires. Any work on any engine parts though, doesn't hurt to disconnect IMHO. BUT, if you know otherwise, please do correct me.

In that case, reseting the clock and radio and having your ecu run diagnostics would be annoying if anything. I agree with you that it should be disconnected for most work.

. i heard it was good for like another 20 whp.
