I have a idle problem maybe someone can help me
ok my car will run fine but at a stoplight once in a while the idle will drop a little then go back to about 700rpm but here the annoying part ill be driving and this is random might happen often might not for a day or 2 when I come to a stop and put my car in neutral the idle sticks at maybe 2200rmp I have to shut the car off and restart it and its fine until next time

I have a 96 se 5speed check vaccum line can't find any leaks

 

Is it throwing any codes? Try to get a code to get you pointing the right way!!

 

this could be alot of problems. the map sensor, TPS sensor, vacum line problem etc

go to discount ask them to get your OBI 2 port print out. find the codes fix the problem

 

Would knock sensor cause this I know its throwing a knock sensor code

Ok ... now to try and actually help you. Check the TB, see if you have a crack / hose off in the intake someplace. Common issue with the intake tube getting cracked / broken / hose slip off and it will cause this. Also, if you haven't check codes, do so. KS will not throw a CEL. Do you have a CAI or just a stock s/u?

now on to yur issue. U prolly jus need to perfrom the big 3 cleaning. Clean TB, MAF, and IACV as per How-tos. Throw some chevron techron in the fuel tank. THat should improve things greatly. IF not then either ur MAF or IACV is goin. In that case u have to use the FSM and check voltages for each one. THat will tell u which one is bad.
