My speedometer is showing 20km/h when parked....
Hey, I have a 96 Maxima and my speedo is giving me problems. When i turn the car on, and it's in park, the speedometer shows me a speed of around ~20km/h. I just recently noticed this since yesterday I was going 40km/h but it felt really slow, and I started wondering why people were giving me dirty looks....
So apparently my speedometer is 20km/h slower than it should be, and even when parked, the minimum it shows is 20km/h. Where would I begin fixing this problem? Would a simple recalibration help? What could this be a sign of? I have a tight budget, I hope it's not serious.
Thank you.

OPTION A:
Take out the instrument cluster. Take it apart. Then move the needle to 20km/h and carefully take it off. Then re-seat the needle in the 0km/h position thus shifting what it is showing by 20 km/h.
Plug the cluster in when you done, and go for a test drive. You might need to make some more fine tuned adjustments.
I had to do the same thing with my old sebring when I took apart the instrument cluster to swap out the needles and the printed plastic with all the numbers.
OPTION B:
Swap out the entire instrument cluster with one that works.
