Driver Side CV Half Shaft Replacement
I searched and searched and stumbled on one post saying I had to take out the passenger side shaft to "push out" the driver side..
After finally getting the passenger side done yesterday, I'm hoping this is not true.
97 Automatic, ABS, Non locking differential.. driver side..
Is there a how to link for this replacement ?
(when doing the passenger side with an autozone new 1/2 shalf, we over extended the middle joint and it popped OUT inside the boot and we needed to take the boot off to realign things to get it back together.. and then were very careful not to do that again.. as it was all the way back in.. in the hub.. in the mounting bracket with the 3 screws.. before we figured it was not right ..!!!) If we have to take that side out again..i'll kick myself for not doing the research up front )

Short story - the axle just pulls out. You do not have to remove the PS to do the DS, or opposite. Plain and simple, grab a hold, yank. Of course, make sure the hub is out of the way and all. You should probably have just replaced the axle you tore up, lifetime gurantee at A/Z IIRC. Hope this helps.

Does anyone trust NAPA CV Joints
I just got my 98 Maxima and it needs new CV Joints, the boots are cracked.
I was hoping to get it done this weekend, so I have to go to Napa to buy the joints. They carry MAX PRO and ALTROM.
Used to be I had a lot of faith in NAPA but now they are stocking Far Eastern made parts. Now some of them aren't bad, like an oil pan or even an air conditioning compressor I bought once, but I'm still reluctant.
Should I go mail order and get Bosch or Beck Arnley or whomever makes the best CV joints and postpone the job for a week?
And what brand is recommended?

Raxles looks like they are better quality, after all they do speciallize in axels, but for $300 both, on a 95maxima.
I got both of mine for $120 from http://www.1aauto.com
They fit, so far ok...one concern, the drivers side original has a mid shaft inner joint, the new one does not. Any thoughts/concerns?
