help problem with car!

today my car started acting up, it started when on was on the on ramp to the highway and it felt like the transmission slipped, like i was accelerating then i felt a quick de-acceleration like i let my foot of the gas for a second. it didnt at a stop light in first and second gear. and the next stop light (while i was stopped) i had the clutch in and pushed the peddle pretty hard and reved the engine and studdered and shook my car, but i reved it again but didnt put any pressure on the peddle and it went all the way up just fine

Sounds like an ignition problem. Check the plugs, coil packs and wiring to them.

I have the same issue - I've got a KS on the way, and working on getting replacement coil packs (and I'll drop in new plugs at the same time) - wiring to my coils is good, but it's a known problem that the wiring / harnesses could be damaged/worn on the 99s.

any plugs except bosch. I had autozone cheapo plugs and they worked fine. They were platinum tipped...

I'm starting to diagnose this problem with mine. At WOT, the engine is up/down, feels like a bad clutch except without the RPM's revving. Get the NGK coppers at Advance. Out the door for $12.
I think it's my packs. 164K has finally got to them (along with my ALT 2 weeks ago)
