Custom Made Rear Strut Tower Brace
I've seen people fab up braces from sentra braces or what not, didnt really like them wanted something alot stiffer that had no points of swivel, because the Maxima has so much body roll in the back end. I have Put this on and it helped a great deal, then I put ES Bushing in the rear control arm bushing and my car hold the road great. I live on a road called 22 its like the curvest road in kentucky, so body roll is a nuisence, I might still invest in a rear sway bar but Im loving it need to build one for the front now. My front was the stiffest part of the car with all es bushing and what not now my back out handles it.
I know its rusty and not painted in the picture, but its hidden behind my alpine sub, and a big thing that hides it all so not a concer to me, it hugs the back of the seat so it is not in the way even if i had no sub, or in the way of the sub since I stick it through the arm rest hole.
It is made out of a pipe with 1/4 inch walls its a thick dude, then I wasnt happy with just that so I put a 3inch by 1/4 inch flat bar on the back and welded it all up, the car is so much tighter now.
So Maybe this is an Idea for some of you other people outh there I dont know Figured Id pass it on

I am curious about the es poly bushing you got for the rear end. I was under the impression there was no set for the rear. part number if you please...

No I didnt weld it to the strut towers, uses the same bolts as the shocks,
and the pipe and flat stock I have about 3 or 4 welds probably 3 inches long down them
Yes, Just a welder, and a few metal working tools it wasnt to hard. It is extra beefy really helps when you have some weight in the back seat keeps the car from feeling so floppy.
And 7-3120G is the part number, there for a sentra or something, But they have the same rear end set up, they fit perfect, and work great, got the knowledge from someone on this form, was skeptial and followed through im so glad I did

I've been thinking of putting some bracing back there myself. Ever since I installed the Eibach springs, my car makes this squeaking noise when the back goes over a bump. I'm pretty sure its the metal in the rear flexing. I'm sure adding a little rigidity would help.
Those ES bushings for the trailing arms are great, btw.

I dont Have Eibach Springs But my back end used to squeak also, this took care of most of that actually

Hmm, I've been searching for a RSTB for the 4th gen for quite some time... guess that makes sense that they dont make em. I figured if they have em for the 3rd gen then they def have it for the 4th but guess I was wrong. I would love one. Are you looking to mass produce these if there's enough demand?

I Never said it helped body roll, but it help handling making body roll feel less of a burden because the shock are doing more work, opposed to the body of the car, what helped the body roll was my Es bushings...
I dont Know if I would mass produce them or not, I would want to use fresh steel and tweak the design a little bit for other people to fit around the strut mount better, and I would need to buy a tool or so for that. and Have to have steel to start out with for people. I know a steel warehouse so thats not a problem. I dont even know what I would charge, the first one took some time and it was difficult because it was the first I guess a second be easier, especially with good new steel I dont have to grind and clean. but Ill put some thought into in for sure

I'd love to have those mounted on my maxima. I could use the welders at my budy Joe's auto body shop.
I installed a brace on my front strut towers earlier this year and it reduced the body roll.
I need to order a sway bar link so I might include those sentra bushings for the rear control arms.

Well I have Been thinking about it, I would like to make some when I get a little time, and I get my maxima back from getting the oil leak stopped, I built A Trailer a couple weeks ago and I have some excess 3inch by 3inch by 3/8inch angle thats brand new, and some 1/4 inch by 6 inch flat bar steel I could cut some circles out of for a better strut mount than mine, I have a better design worked up in my head than mine, might be a little heavier in weight not sure should be pretty close but it will be plenty strong to pull a goose neck trailer on if you ever have the desire haha, but I will Work on one when I get the time and get my car back then get some pictures up and see if anyone would want to buy one

Now the problem (which is not really) is that when i take a curve and theres a bump i will literally feel the car in the air so imagine if i would take that fast,
but i love it how it is right now.

The materials used there are WAY overkill. you can make something just as strong that weighs 1/3 that if you take a look at what's going on. honestly the tube itself is more than strong enough to do the job.

Dude, I ****in love it. I was gonna make the same thing but i wanted to weld it to the car, figure thatll end up melting the car before its hot enough to weld the bar tho wonderful fabrication. If you could post a couple of close ups of the ends id love to steal the design haha

Well I have a custom sub enclosure blocking it and its a pain to move, so Ill explain it, I was going to make 2 circle brackets but didnt have the flat plate at the time, so I made 2 L brackets and then put a small piece of metal under both of them and welded it to it made contact with the strut tower and didnt stick up. Hope that Helps, if you build one post some pics i'd love to see some other custom metal working. and make your holes into slots so they can fit on the bolts or else they wont because of the angle.
