smoke coming out.

This is the deal

I have had my second max sitting around for an while, i turn it on once in an while to go around the block or to do some minor things. I would say maybe once every week or at most every 2 weeks.

This last time i let it sit an little longer (maybe 3 weeks) and when i turned her on, there was an burning smell, once I grabbed the flash light i could notice smoke coming out i tried to see what it was about, before I turned off the vehicle.

So that’s where i am at now... any ideas or clues what i can look into to see what that might be about...

I know the gas light is on, no check motor light, but I don’t think that would be reason that is happening.
Now I have been having prior issues with transmission (stalling from going 1st to second gear [AT] ), and had have not address that yet, being the reason I don’t drive her that much anymore.

Thanks before hand

Could be the antenna motor smoking, or the headlight harness. maybe the glovebox light or the blinker fluid.

How about a general location? Electrical or oil smell? We need SOME deatails.

But seriously I woult take a good look for valve covers leaking on exhaust, or alternator commiting suicide.

Agreed. Not enough info to help you out here. Where was the smoke coming from? Any weird noises or vibrations while idling??

might be rear valve cover gasket. does your car drip oil? while the car is running look under and see if you see any smoke coming from the rear header where it meets the y-pipe. when my rear valve cover was leaking the oil would accumulate there and burn off as white smoke.

Rear valve cover gasket leaking oil on your exhaust heat shield, and front injectors clicking. Depending on how bad the rear VC is, keep driving it for now. Best price I found local was $52.00 for a Fel-pro kit including both VC gaskets, grommets, and tube seals. Came from Schucks, Kragen, Checkers, O'riely -all the same chain. Online is cheaper initially, but shipping puts it right back up there.
There are a few write ups on the fix, It can be DIY but its probably a 6 outta 10 on difficulty. Its probably a 2 hour job so figure $70-$90 X2 Hours +parts.

Injectors always click, its normal.

Lol Mr Sandman>

I think my rear VC leak was responsible for killing my RF O2 Sensor. Was covered in oil, heat shield funnels right ontop of the sensor. Do this quick before you pay another $120+ retail.
