Mounting bolts on AC compressor

how the hell did u remove these 4 stupid mounting bolts on the a/c compressor? im trying to replace the alternator and was stuck on these 4 freakin bolts for freaking hours and still no budge. It seems like these bolts been on there since the car was manufactured so its on pretty tight. help !!

you should you a deep 14mm socket attached to a breaker bar for ease of removing the bolts, after they come loose just use a regular 3/8 drive ratchet to take them off, or if your using just a 3/8drive ratchet attach a pipe or something to give you leverage to break the bolts

ok i'll try this tmrw..so far i was just using a 3/8 ratchet and it was straight up impossible

Right man... I just did a alternator change last week and my bolts just came off with a deep socket and some elbow. Hated the job though but glad it's done and save some bucks in labor

lol i take my words back and heading to the gym myself. couldn't loosen it up with the socket, had to use a mini-breaker bar. worked like a charm!

Heat should help make the bolts looser. Try getting a small propane torch and heating the bolts.

I find that being able to swear in 4 languages really makes things go smoother. Sadly, English is the least effective.
