What were the keywords you put into the google search engine?

Intermediate Pipe Link

It says its for a 2000... but its the exact pipe you need. You also need bung to plug the 02 sensor port since you wont be needing it. This is the site I bought it from. Perfect fit.

I welded up my own intermediate pipe. Total cost was around $40, and I have enough leftovers to make another if anyone wants one. Mine is 2.5", so it should flow better than the stock unit. No bung.

Also, a comment on the silencer. It resonates at around 1100 RPM, which is a little annoying, but I found that it made a vast improvement in performance and sound. Without the silencer, my car sounds like a Blazer with an exhaust leak (grew up across the street from one, heard it every day). With the silencer in, it's decently quiet, and the tone sounds... intentional, at least. Additionally, removing the silencer more than quadruples atmospheric backpressure, causing a severe and noticeable drop in low-end torque and fuel economy. I actually kind of like my CM setup with the silencer in, except the tip scrapes on everything now. Improved muffler forthcoming.

For anyone who wants to hear the ebay/custom maxima exhaust without a silencer. Here's two videos.

That doesn't sound that bad without but it's better in. I got the real CM catback with a Magnaflow High flow cat and CES y-pipe on my 3rdgen and it sounds dope with the silencer in. Only thing is the silencer bolt/nut has to be modified a little to stop the slight rattle when you first start her up. I'm happy with the muffler but I don't like how it looks without a rear valence effect. I might upgrade to a Borla next summer or maybe get a Stillen ground effect kit, we'll see what happens. It's good to see alot you guys copping these catbacks, there real good for what they cost and I guess this was a good thread I started.

The silencer was holding back the power for me. I hated how loud it was without it when i first installed it, but after a month of break in period, it sounded like music to my ears without a silencer.

So after a month your ears were broken in or your exhaust, I'm not being funny. You can get use to the exhaust humming by ear, you felt a gain with it off at first or after a while. I asked cause what probably happened was your ecu got broken to sort of say, you know like after you repair, modify or upgrade anything you disconnect battery cables for a while, then hook back up. That's what I do for the brain to relearn everything and have a fresh start with new modification or repair.

Anyone have good exhaust videos from the interior? I don't really care how it sounds from the outside. I'm not really looking to upgrade my exhaust either; just curious. I'm sure I could be convinced for the right sound.

I really like the way it sounds (inside) from the factory at ~2.5-4k, but it's too quiet. If I could just get that but louder it would basically be awesome and I would pay many dollars for it. As for the sound from outside, well, I don't think I need to draw any more attention to myself than my stunning good looks already do, so...

I felt a power increase the moment i took off the silencer. The sound was from the muffler being broken in, not my ears lol. I distinctly remember it was ALOT louder when I first installed it. It also smelled like **** for the first 2 days lol, had to burn in the new pipes!

Get megan racing catback it sounds great a little on the pricey side about $330 on their site
but its defnally worth ever penny. Megan Racing is also known to be one the value oriented product lines with affordable prices on quality items. megan racing CEO quote, “You get what you paid for” being ingrained in the minds of many racers. In many cases, this is true, but the goal of Megan Racing was to prove otherwise.

Any of you guys know a muffler that could be swapped into this system to give a similar sound? I like you guys' clips and how your cars sound but am not the biggest fan of the huge exhaust tips....

and on a side note, does this forum reset your post count if you've been away for a while? i had a few hundred or so and after not logging in for about a month i get back on and have 0. weird....

Magnaflow makes one that's the right dimensions.
http://www.amazon.com/MagnaFlow-Perf.../dp/B000Z3Q394
That should do the trick. I'm saving up for one too. It's about half an inch bigger in diameter than the CM one, so it might be a little quieter than CM even with the silencer in. You'll have to weld on the mounting brackets, of course.

Also, I'm not sure what happened with your post count. I haven't seen that happen on this site, but I've seen it randomly happen on other forums. I'm pretty sure it's not supposed to reset. I've seen plenty of people with post counts in the thousands who haven't logged on in a few years.

It's a Custom Maxima catback on Custom Maxima's site, I've installed 2 of them and there tight. The catback they got on ebay is almost the same thing.

Edit: Wait... the prices&sellers are different, But this seems to be damn near the same exhaust...

Hey 95Maxed, can you explain why I wouldn't need O2 sensor anymore? Will my check engine light be on all the time? Is there some other mods in your maxima that I need to look into before plugging the O2 sensor port? Thanks!

You dont need to do anything to your o2 sensors because your car already has the part that 95Maxed had to buy

Yea, my car needed that extra pipe b/c my car doesnt have a 02 sensor after the cat like later years. I needed the pipe so my new b pipe would reach the cat. Plugged the 02 port because, again, i didnt need it.

I said it on the first page. The CM, Megan, and Ebay cat backs are gonna sound like poop with a y-pipe. You can get away from that sound with your stock b-pipe on

But I have a stock Y-pipe, so I should be relatively safe.

Reading this and a few other threads on the CM catback, I think I'm going to purchase one.

But I remember hearing about how terribly slow they were to ship, How long did it take you guys to get your stuff?
