Does anybody know if K&N makes a filter for the stock air box? I dont want to go with a CAI or popcharger because of the noise, but I would like to use a K & N filter. Thanks in advance for any responses.

Yes, they do.

You'd have to pick up a KN catalog to get the part number, or check knfilters.com

What year max do you have? You can disconnect the resonator and install the panel filter. That will give you a little big more air. And it will still be relatively quiet. The resonator on a 4th gen maxima is very easy to get to. So you can disconnect it and reconnect it if you don't like it. Its 2 min to take off.. 1 min to put back on.

Yes they make a panel filter for the stock airbox. I have one installed. There was no increase in noise. The engine seems to rev a little easier around 3,000-5000 RPM, but I can't say that it feels any quicker.

Resonator?

I have a 95, and I'm soon selling it to get a 97. Whats the purpose of the resonator and how do I identify it? I'm assuming its forward of the airbox.

Resonator just takes out some of the inrushing intake noise. Removing it will not gain squat for performance.
