code P0450 cost?

just recently got a code for P0450, can someone let me know what would be the estimated cost in fixing this? its saying evap, and a mechanic said the job could run between $500 and up.

does it need to be done asap or can the car be driven?

Car can be driven but will not pass an emissions test. Also, if you order the part and do it yourself, it costs way less than $500. I was trying to look for the part for you on courtesynissan but couldn't locate it.

ohh evap codes.. when i worked at shop, and a cust came in for diagnosis, the owners eyes lit up with dollar signs..

i would scour the fsm regarding this code, it will tell you how to test the component, and how to diagnose if its something else.

Yup I have done the knock sensor before on my own and my best friends car. My hand can still fit for now...as for that sensor, it seems self explanatory in the FSM what sensor needs to be changed so I can do it for you.
