Hard start

Well just about done fixing my maxima I just bought. It's a 96 auto with 140k on it. I've noticed after it sits any longer than 45 min or so it has to crank longer than it should before it starts. I'm not talking a 30 second crank but it's not like 3-5 sec like it normally should be. Probably about 10-15 if I had to guess. Anything you guys have seen on here that is pretty common? Also no cel on

Thanks in advance.

No CEL on?? I would do what cashoit always say...Clean MAF, TB, IACV. If that doesn't make a difference, replace Fuel Pressure Regulator.

10 - 15 seconds is an e-x-t-r-e-a-m-l-y long crank time.
Do as some have suggested and report back.
When is the last time the fuel filter was changed?

Ok thanks for the suggestions. Is there anyway to actually check the fpr? And I just bought the car so who knows when the fuel filter was replaced. Also where is your hard start thread?

I believe you pull the vacuum hose off and if fuel comes out, then its bad. make sure you dont confuse Fuel Pressure Regulator (FPR) with Fuel Filter
