^^
OK Don't bug out, you are a bugger though,
It may vibrate at stops and reds, but its OK. AS long as nothing is rattling like its loose. Its a solid vibration right? It will fade away and be gone within 2 weeks latest. You will notice when your cruisin at 60 and punch it, it'll respond quick and juice. High end gets freaky, low end loss is minimal. Smoke is normal at first cause the Y pumps more exhaust into the cat and cat back which is old and crusty, it literally blasts out alot of resin. The shaking will stop.
Nothing is wrong....for now....but watch, listen and feel it closely. Lets us know if it gets better(hopefully not worse).

Ask Shop
Did you keep your old pipe??? Hopefully you did. If you did, check to see if they left any parts with it other than the pipe itself- they may have not put back on the bracket that supports the y-pipe, and if you don't put it back on, I have heard that the Y will rattle fairly violently.

My car did the smelly thing and it did the smoke thing a from all over. Most of it from the liquid wrench burning off. But until your ECU has a chance to adapt your car will do some unusual stuff. Mine did, then I reset the ECU and it stopped as soon as I reset it. I assume that it was upset since it had a different flow than before. Make sure that they got all the brackets on good and flush. When I had mine installed they didn't and my car blew the gasket and I sounded like a Dodge Neon for a week.

I just got my WSP y installed on my 3rd gen, and the cat bracket was shot to sh*t because I have been bottoming out in my driveway (frickin cheap landlord). Anyway, after the install I did notice all of your symptoms, but they have all subsided with time. Chances are the support bracket is just vibrating -- have the shop check it and tighten as necessary. As for the smoke and the smell, I think thats the coating on the metal being blown / burned out of the exhaust. The same thing happened when we got a new water heater -- the coating burned off and produced a smell, and mild smoke.

That's my ONLY problem right now...
the vibration
my pipe vibrated a lot and I was worried that it wasn't connected well, so I took it back to the shop that did the work. He looked at it and said it was the rubber hanger with the metal hook that held the y-pipe up right next to the cat. It was vibrating up against the underbody of my car so he took it off. I still have one hanger intact and everything is so smooth now that I believe that was the problem.
