throttle

throttle

Today my gas pedal got stuck and wouldnt stop accelorating the car. i had to do everything possible to stop it. then i restarted it and it acted like nothing happened. any suggestions on what could of happened? its a 99 maxima auto the over drive is goin out would that have anything to do with it?

Got a power wire for an amp running close to it? I had mine get stuck on the throttle body a while back and it did the same thing.

Also on top of this, I would check the clamp for the intake vacuum tube located right near the cables. If it is installed incorrectly, it does get stuck and you will have acceleration.

Yes, I know you have a throttle. I do too, it restricts the amount of air that goes into the engine when I don't wanna go fast.

Please read the guidelines for making a thread title.

There's also another sticky specifically addressing the issue.

Both outline what NOT to do in the first post, but it's really common sense.

Sounds like an issue with your cruise control. When you turned the car off the CC reset itself.

haha im sorry, the first thing i said when i read the title i was like" what about the throttle?" haha....next time put "throttle stuck to floor last night" or something and you wont catch the greif! good luck to ya!

oh well. well that problem is fixed now but now my car feels like it has no power. when im at a dead stop on level ground and put it into drive it just roles backwards and when i go to press the gas it stumbles alil and i just changed the tps. but now at every stop light and stop sign it does the same thing. its stumbling alot. any ideas of what this could be i would really be greatful for some help plz.

tb has been cleaned like a week ago and im in the processes of changing the tbs that thing is a pain any helpful advice on how to change that? and how do i clean the iacv??
