Knock sensor bypass, what am I doing wrong?

So I've read pretty much all the KS thread, and decided to do the bypass until I get my new knock sensor. I disconnected the subharness, and placed the 470Ω resistor in the connector, cleared the code, drove, no CEL, then pulled the code and 0304 popped up, I tried to add a 100Ω in series, so one pin ->100Ω->470Ω-> other pin, that still threw the 0304. I then tried them in parallel with both the 100Ω and 470Ωends both going into each pin, it still thew the 0304. I tested the harness and got 566Ω so it's got to be something I am doing wrong with the resistors.

In parallel ...

The resistors I am using ...

Wrong resistors, you want 470,000 or 470K. Radio shack #271-1133.
Color code gold, yellow, violet, yellow.

Awesome, thanks, that's what I get for not writing it down before going to the store .

Do I need to clear the code after I put in the resistor, or will the ecu clear it on it's own once it sees what it needs to?

Ok, cleared the code, installed resistor, drove home, pulled 0304 again, then reseated the resistor, started and ran the motor for a couple minutes, turned it off, and pulled 5 by 5 from the ecu so hopefully it will hold next time I drive.
