I saw a 96 SE auto(pearl white with Black Leather)
The car is in Mint Condition. The guy is asking 9K.
I am a little paranoid about buying a car with this many miles
and that is 6 years old. Should I hold out and wait for a 98 a spend
a couple extra G's

 

Maximas in gerneral are very reliable. I really wounldn't worry too much about the mileage. Ask for service records to see if the car was maintained properly. This is the most important factor when buying any car. The price seems a little steep but everything is negotiable. A fair price is in the $7000-$8000 range, depending on the condition.

 

I have a 96se with 156,000 plus miles (brought new 6 years ago). The only major part thus far that i replaced was my original alternator at 115,000 miles! Put good fluids in your machine including gas (premium). Don't beat on it, just drive and enjoy. 96se amsoil 0w-30,no mods, very fast, and extremely reliable. As the others members specified check out records, whereas you don't want to buy some one elses abused machine!!! Oh and one other thing 02 sensors are your general typical replacement as are your cv joint boots, otherwise its a dynamic machine for the money/performance. Good Luck!
