Those headers really wont net you any gain but the y pipe will. If I was going to buy headers i wouldn't buy those but thats just my opinion. I would look into getting these http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/OBX-E...item2a0afb5203

from what i understand, 4th gen maxima headers are pretty good at a stock form. aftermarket dont really help.

headers really help on the 5.5 gen maxima a lot.

this is very true, the design of the 4th gen maxima are not restrictive from 95-98, but 99 are, the y pipe alone give you enough gain as is with the stock headers, yes-aftermarket heareds looks nice but wont produce a major diff.

stick with a warpspeed or cattman y pipe, and you will be very pleased

Since he already has a y-pipe, it would be a waste of money to get those shorty headers. If your looking to get every bit of horses you can with headers, might as well get the closes thing to long tubes available with the better sound of an equal length y-pipe which are the 3.5 headers

Dude, its to offset the cheap price of the item lol.

OP: If you have run out of things to do to the car, headers are not entirely pointless, and will give you some more power, especially if you've messed with your air/fuel systems, IE VI, CAI, HAI, or have changed the rest of the cat-back or have a test pipe.

Headers are interchangeable between all 4th and 5th gens.

What are your goals for the car? If you plan on installing a mevi or 00vi, then the OBX headers will compliment them nicely.

That OBX headers look kinda odd, such that there is no removable y pipe like the 4th gens.

So if you need to do a repair that normally requires the removal of the ypipe, so with the OBX header, that means you need to take the rear header as well?? I heard it was a pain in the butt to take the header on/off.

yep but there aren't many repairs that involve removing the y-pipe

Do the headers and y-pipe from a 3.5 fit the 3.0?
Meaning, would I be able to use the aforementioned OBX header/y-pipe system on my 97?

Cattman headers are very well made. Not cheap but when you have to tear into the back of the engine to put them in you will be glad you will only have to do it once.
