exhaust

How much would it cost to put on an exhaust from the cat - all the way back? I have a good cat , just need the rest of the piping and possibly a muffler , mine is somehow mangled and dangling causing a huge exhaust leak. my hangers are all broken.

How much for a used exhaust ?

how much for them to put it on?

Can I even use a used exhaust from the junkyard?

It all depends on your location. I know around here, you can go to a muffler shop and get cat-back for around $200.

Get a CustomMaxima catback. They're cheap and sound great if the rest of your exhaust is stock.

There's a whole thread about them in the 4th gen section.

shop labor will be at least an hour, and most shops charge around $60+ an hour for labor plus materials

if I buy a new exhaust it will bolt right up correct or does it HAVE to be welded? because I am mechanically inclined I can bolt up an exhaust but if it needs welded ... well you know.

If you get Custom Maxima's catback set up it bolts right up and it's really good. For the money it's the best cat-back system on the market, this is my opinion. A Greddy cat-back is better but is like 500 bones more. I started a thread on this catback system and have installed 2 of them; 1 on a 4thgen and the other 1 on my 3rdgen Maxima. They both sound good, perform good and so far look like they'll last a while which is important. Check out the thread on this topic, it's called "Has anyone tried Custom Maxima's Own Cat Back". Good Wrenching.
