will a stock 97-99 exhaust system fit on 95?

I have a 97-99 stock exhaust system with a 97-99 cat that I would like to replace my warpspeed exhaust with on my 95 maxima because I want it quiet again. Will the 97-99 exhaust system fit without any fitment problems?

They arent different lengths. The B-pipe on the 95 is longer because there is no 02 sensor after the cat. If hes replacing the entire thing with a 97+ exhaust it should fit no problem. At least, thats my thought.

IIRC they are different lengths due to the rear bumper. It will fit, but will be too short at the bumper.

I say just the opposite. I bought a used (1 yr old) GReddy SP2 cat back from a 97 for my 95 SE a couple years ago. It was about 3/4" LONGER than the stock system I replaced, possibly because of the O2 bung being in the B pipe instead of the cat converter. Other than sticking out that 3/4" from the stock bumper (a minor problem if anyone brushes against or leans against the back of the car while the muffler tip is still hot), the 97 system fit perfectly on my 95.

Short answer is yes.

The exhaust is same length from the cat outlet to the muffler inlet on all 4th gens.
97-99 rear bumpers are indeed longer so the muffler outlet pipe is longer on those years.

The problem lies in the 97, 98 and some 99s which have the O2 sensor behind the cat in a small separate pipe. Its called the s pipe and its bolted to the b pipe. The b pipe and s pipe equal the other years b pipe.

FWIW I would never use the s pipe style cat back ever again. I rubbed on all kinds of things as the s pipe bends down. It makes the resonator hang low. Also its a huge restriction.
