1-2 shift flare?

Hey I am not sure if this is a normal characteristic of these cars or not as I am used to GM transmissions. The issue I am noticing is that on the 1-2 shift there is a slight flare at times of maybe 100-300rpms. It is more noticable under moderate to hard acceleration. The transmission does not slip at all under hard accel or forced downshift and all other shifts are smooth. I do know that the transmission has been replaced previously with a aftermarket reman trans w/converter and only has about 8k on it. Fluid is bright and clean and not burnt at all. I had a 98 dodge avenger with a mitsu trans in it and it did a similar thing with it as well so I dont know if this is normal or if there is something going on that I should pay attention too.
