I've been doing some research for some exhaust systems (since mine is going to crap). I've been looking at the Custom Maxima catback but I don't know if it's real good. I'm also looking at the Ebay headers.

If you check out the thread "Has Anyone Tried Custom Maxima's Own Catback", I think you read all you need to get your answer.

I have a Megan Racing Type NA exhaust. I love this exhaust and sounds great.

This is where I ordered mine and it's the cheapest I could find. Worth the $315 no doubt IMO.

Did you check out the thread I suggested yet, I believe you'll be happy at what you see/hear.

I threw FeeBay headers and Y-Pipe on mine with the Feebay catback and it absolutely roars! The Headers and Y-pipe came to around $150 delivered and the catback was $250. i Used my original O2 sensors and Nissan X-3 Catalytic converter to keep it semi legal. Unless you have $20k in a supercharged engine you won't notice any extra gains from spending 5 times that amount on exotic name brand exhaust components. I was amazed by the quality of the T304 Stainless exhaust components and after cleaning up all the internal welds and square edges with the die grinder I'm sure there wouldn't even be a 1HP difference between the FEEbay exhaust for $400 to your door and the top dollar gear on a basically stock VQ30DE. I ported and polished intake 5mm and extrusion honed the plenum 5mm to match. Opened up the throttle body 4mm and fabricated a custom butterfly for the larger opening in the throttle body. Another trick I came up with on my own was to machine the butterfly shaft down to 1/4". That allows a lot more air to pass through unrestricted. I don't know what they were thinking when they threw a 1/2" rod in for the butterfly shaft??? With the short ram intake you can really hear that think huffing! I run 93 octane so I can run more aggressive fuel/Ignition timing without triggering the Briggs and Stratton mode from the Knock Sensor. I have to admit, it screams now. The best place to spend money is the clutch and flywheel. I opted for a $450 Advanced Clutch Technologies stage 2 and an 12lb aluminum flywheel. All the power in the world is useless unless you can get it to the pavement. It's not like it's a race car but you won't know it wasn't if you drove it... In closing, don't waste your money on brand names when it come to exhaust expecting to bolt on 150HP or some other crazy claim. A stock VQ30DE Generation 4 Maxima may see 15hp on the dyno from a bolt on exhaust upgrade without ECU tuning. It will sound like 100Hp though...Just a thought....

PS. I build custom carputers with consult cables for ECU logging/tuning if anyones interested. I have a Deans List BS in computer Science and I'm retired at 44 so I do it for a hobby. You only pay actual cost of equipment + shipping and whatever you want to donate to the coffee fund. The carputers also perform the roles of Navigation system, Audio/Video system, WiFi Internet and anything else a computer does. I like to use 8" 640X480 touch screens with roll up blue-tooth keyboards and small blue-tooth mice so they fit easily in the compartment between the seats. Laptops and netbooks also work well if you already own one to run the consult cable. Having control of your own ECU is one of the best Mods ever! Those JWT $500 Generic "POP" tuned ECUs are on the very mild side of aggressive. There's no way anyone can make a universal POP'ed ECU that will just work on any car. You have to put a vehicle on a DYNO and tune it for it's particular Mods or lack of. Even 2 apparently identical cars will run differently. With the endless variety of Mods people do to their cars like intakes, exhaust, porting and on and on, it is virtually impossible to make a one size fits all ECU like they claim. All they do is up the Rev limiter offset and add a large offset to the top speed effectively negating the top speed limit and very minutely adjusting the fuel timing maps. I've heard many stories that "store bought" POP ECUs actually made peoples cars run worse! Does that sound like it's worth $500 bucks? Just buy a $50 consult cable and tune it yourself! I'm even working on the pinouts for the 40X1 header in the 96 ECU's.

x3 racing headers and y-pipe (fit perfectly and are about 250), and greddy spectrum elite... i will ALWAYS say this....

before you respond!!!
yes i know greddy is expensive and these headers are not cattman or OBX BUT, i have them and I love this setup... listen to the youtube video and yes i DO feel the gains.... well, i put the headers, y-pipe, catback and cai at the same time...

until it sounds like ****... piping makes all the difference in the world man, dont spend your money on several different exhausts and headers because the sound is awful. do it right the first time.
