OBDII on 95

I know that 96 was the first year mandatory on testing, but for some reason I thought someone had mentioned that the 95 Maxima also could be tested. I have a 95 and a 96 and have routinely used a tester on the 96, but have never really looked at any way to do anything on the 95.
Anyone have any info on this?
Thanks,
Randy

Thank you very much Kevin. I will take a look at it. I don't think it has a check engine light, or it is burned out.RandyA

Passenger side of the center under kick plate. Pop off the two things and test.

ALL 4 gen maximas are OBD. Nissan started OBDII in the maxima two years before it was mandated by the government. Dont let any shops or mechanics tell you otherwise, they just dont better.

As has been stated on this forum many times, the knock sensor could be setting a code, but the CEL will not come on. It's worth checking codes just to see if the KS is operational.

This is usually the case or either when you purchase the car from someone, the remove the bulb...like my cousin did when he called for help when his car was stalling...told him get the codes read and there were 7 codes but no light. Removed the cluster and no bulb...

People need to know when the key is turned to on, they should see the light before starting. If not, the person is hiding something..
