Possible Leak

I was walking by my car yeaterday and noticed a spot underneath my car but thought that it was from another car that had parked in my space previously. But today I looked and a new smaller spot was in the same area I have never had problems with leaks before, any ideas? I touched the spot with my finger and it din't feel greay like oil. The spot is on the passenger side under the area where the oil filter is. Help

I don't think so?

I mean I figured water would have evaporated but it is still there. Could defrost cause the same thing??

Use degreaser and degrease underneath the engine area. Then check under the car to pinpoint the leak. Known trouble areas are:

Oil Pressure Sender unit- behind the oil pan. Replace with aftermarket piece, read about this in the 4th gen maintenence FAQ up above.

Or- if you have a stick shift, toasted differential bearings cause the axle seals to stretch, thus leak gear oil.

Also- the park position switch on the driver side of a stick transmission also has a tendency to leak.

Because you say it is near the passenger side, I almost would bet it is the first reason I listed.

Is there any way to tell if the differential bearings are toast? If they are then what?
