Oil Leak

Right side drip near oil pan bolt, atleast on the ground, just had a new alternator put in but can't spot the source. (no hoist view at this point)
What could be leaking on the front right side of the engine? thanks.

Possibly leaking near the oil filter area? Oil pressure sending unit maybe

Front right side is where a ton of oil related items are located (Pan, drain bolt, filter, pressure sensor, timing cover, crank pulley seal, cam sensors, etc). Need more info.

definitely in the front rt area but the drip doesn't materialize until the car has been sitting for quite a while so without a hoist, very difficult to pinpoint. Just wondering where it could be coming from in that area assuming the oil filter and pan bolt are in tight, which they are.

When it happened to me, it was leaking thru the oil pressure sender. Pulll the wire off the end and see if there is oil on it. Relatively easy and cheap repair if it is leaking.

I can't get at it right this moment, where is the Oil Pressure Sending Unit, also is it accessible from up side or under only? The fact that it takes quite a while to drip down might indicate a higher locale.

I,m having the same issue. I found that the back valve cover gasket is leaking. I'm trying to find out how to take off the plenum to get to it.

the valve cover gaskets are the most likely cause, especially the one by the firewall. the oil will run down the engine block and drip off of the oil pressure sending unit. removing the upper intake manifold is a real pita. If you have big hands - good luck!

Here is a thread on how to do it -

why don't you use some brake cleaner to clean that area and then trace the leak? take some pics as well.

Been awhile since I fixed it, but youy definitely get it from underneath. Best I remember, it was on or around the oil filter base - look for a wire. I cleaned around it first, then looked again a couple of days later and the only oil was on the sender itself, so knew it was not coming from above. Agree that drip could be valve cover, that's why you should verify.
