Question about Intake

Hey all,

When I purchased my '99 Maxima SE, it had a Stillen intake system already installed. It's the 402955 part, here's the link: http://www.stillen.com/product.asp?id=STIHIFLW01

I need a replacement air filter for it, which I can order from Stillen for $48 + shipping. I unfortunately know nothing about mods or other performance enhancements made to vehicles, but was wondering if it were possible to find an oil-free replacement filter to replace the K&N that is on there. I don't know if filters are interchangeable on different intakes or not.

If anyone can guide me a bit here, I'd be very appreciative!

Thanks all!

2 options. Go to you local auto store like kragen or pep boys. Then buy either a recharge kn kit for like $10. Or take in with you and say u need that same size connection and buy one that fits. I'd recommend option one. Instructions are on the web and bottle.

Amsoil, Apexi and R2C all make dry flow filters (no need to oil period). Just get one with similar specs as the Stillen one and it should work just fine.

Thanks for the replies. Would you recommend any one brand over another?

I have a 3" Amsoil dry flow myself and I love it. Much better than my old K&N since I don't have to worry about oiling it, plus it flows just as well.

You can always try eBay or put up a WTB in the classifieds.
