Front Hub question.

Quick question, tried to search for it but did not come up with a answer. I need to replace front wheel bearing but I am afraid I need to replace front hub as well. Are the front passenger hub ABS/non-lsd/5-speed specific? If so, can I transfer my existing parts to the new hub?

Thanks.

They are not specific as far as I know. You will not need to transfer anything. Depending on how you been driving with the hub making the noise that the bearing may have scored the hub in which case both would have to be replaced.

they are specific! If you have ABS you need to make sure you have an ABS specific hub/spindle. If your car is non abs, then you can use abs, or non abs.

Well unless the dealership or courtesyparts is wrong, the wheel hubs are NOT SPECIFIC!! I went and bought myself and they didn't ask for VIN or if I had ABS or not..

are we talking about the wheel hub? or bearing...

if were talking hub, then tell me how you're going to get the abs sensor in a non abs hub?

I think your getting your parts confused. The abs sensor bolts to the spindle. The hub is the part that the wheel studs are bolted to and that gets pressed into the bearing.
The hubs are the same for abs and non abs.

I just did this last week. If you haven't been running with bad wheel bearings for a while you might be able to salvage your old hubs. The machine shop that replaced mine cleaned up the hubs too. I brought in the spindle/hub and they pressed in/out the new ones for $40.
