What size speakers in '97 Maxima SE w/out Bose?

Can anyone tell me the size of the front and rear speakers in a '97 Nissan Maxima SE without the Bose system? I want to upgrade as the oem's are deteriorating. The rears look like 6.5"; not sure about the fronts.
Just want to confirm with those in the know.

Thanks

With the limited width of the stock grill it kind kills it have a 9in wide speaker behind it. But i wouldn't know about speaker size limitation since i run 4 8s and 4 bullets in the front doors

Coaxil speakers never really deliver a good midbass output. The will always lack at your subs crossover point which most setups is at 65hz where the sub should roll off and the mid picks up. If you have your speaker crossed at say 80hz it leaves a big weak gap between. Tons of 6x9s is really just for show, you can do a simple active or even passive mids and highs setup that will out perform

LOL 6x9s suck camel ****.

Stock speakers are technically oversized 6 1/2" AKA 6 3/4". Kind of a moot point these days but it may help.

I agree w/ the science and reasoning behind why 6.5s > 6x9s but after hearing both in person..... 6x9 all the way...

Now do I run 6.5s? Yes, I'm on the fence still about hacking up my stock setup, esp. since I haven't finished my audio setup...

6 1/2 sir.
If you're on a tight budget, I recommend Alpine Type-S speakers. Great quality for a low price. I wasn't disappointed.

Go with quality 6.5s all around. I ran alpine 6x9s in the rear before and honestly, compared to 6.5s (especially at higher volumes) 6x9s sound muddy and not as bright and clear as 6.5s.

My personal fav right now for quality and affordiabililty are JL Audio C2-650x all around.

And shouldnt this go in the audio section lol

I did 6.5" Infinity components in the front and 6.5" type s in the back. Used the components for highs and mids and supplemented bass with a Type R sub. Sounded awesome!

I also tried some Type R component speakers for the front, thinking they would be an improvement, but they weren't even close. The Infinitys sound much better. You won't get very good sounding bass from them if you install them in the original BOSE speaker enclosure though, so you need a sub (and crossover, if running one amp. Although most head units now should let you filter your front spaekers). What really irked me was teh Alpine tweeters were a little bigger than the Infinity tweeters, so I had to enlarge the tweeter hole. Now that I've gone back to the Infinity set, the tweeters are a little undersized. Looks pretty ghetto

Non-Bose have 6.75" round speakers all around. If you get smaller , you'll need adapters.

replacing with another oem set is your best bet unless you change your headunit.
You could spend 100-200 on budget component set and get slightly better sq compare to your current stock system but i think thats not worth it if you want it to sound good on a budget you need a decent 4v headunit and a comp set. i recommend hybrid imagines.

Yes, it's also called the rear deck. There are no rear door speakers.

They are 6.5" but also known as "over-sized" so they're closer to 6 3/4" but play it safe and go with 6.5", it'll fit, I've done it.

Go with Hybrid Audio. I don't own any of their stuff yet, but I've heard Hybrid's speakers in cars. They're giving much higher end expensive audio components a run for their money. Here's a couple of vids i found browsing around on YT.

The other vids are subwoofers and higher end comps offered by hybrid
