Sticking Driver Power Window 98 Maxima

I have a Sticking Driver Power Window on my 98 Maxima. It only sticks on the way up at about 7" from the top closed position. Finally this morning it froze and i had to use my hand to give it an assist.

The window goes down great, but when it comes up, it starts to stick about 7 inches from the top. Until today, it would slow down significantly and then finally close.

I've had Power Windows apart in other cars. I have found bent rails and worn fittings and frayed cables.

I think my motor is healthy and the rail is fine and so are the cables and motor and fittings because the window goes down quickly and easily. Until this morning it would go up, but just slow down as it closed.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what is causing this problem?

I've done 3 regulators on my car. 2 failed completely not allowing the window to stay up at all but one had a similar issue to yours. It would go down but would not come up all the way.

You can pick up used regulators from a junk yard or part out in the classified section pretty cheap, around 40 bucks. It might be worth a shot at replacing it to see if it solves your problem.

lube the window trac first, see if this helps.if it leans to the front when it stops grease the tract, just pull off the door panel to get a clear view.

anyway it is the most important and most used in the car --Until I get it fixed I have to remember to avoid drive thru ATMs, drive through fast food, toll booths-

However what do i do when I get pulled over by an officer of the law?
If on some dark murky night, he (she) sees me opening the door or reaching into the back seat , I might be writing to you from another Forum with an IP address 666.666.666........

When it starts to stick grab the window and see if it moves forward and backwards. Mine is the same way i just give it a little tilt and its good for awhile. Some times the set screw backs off on the track just need to straighten the window out and tighten the screw again

I was cleaning out my car I closed the rear passenger side door and then noticed that the window was down. Tried to roll it up all it does is click I can pull it up but it doesn't stay. Ideas I'm trying to get my windows tinted.
