Goodbye .org

FORSALE THREAD LINK http://forums.maxima.org/4th-generat...ml#post7917832
traded the 97 in today for a 2011 sonota 2.0T
I am both sad and happy for obvious reasons.

Thanks for everything .org

btw... my custom r34 black twin projectors will be up for sale in the next little while. Also, my orginal red/clear taillights will be going up as well.

If I can convince the dealership to let me have my B&M short shifter that will be going up here as well... I have the stock stuff so it shouldn't be an issue.

I wish I would have had more time to strip the car, but the weather up here is so ****ty and they gave me a great trade in value for it.

very nice, those new sonata's look pretty sharp. Those items you're selling will go fast, especially that b&m shifter. I may be interested in that. PM if you're able to salvage it.

I ahve only had the sonata a few hours now and so far its pretty good.
274 horse and 269ft.lb torque from 1700 rpm so it can cook pretty decently.

More room than in the old maxima for sure.
stock photo here

hold tight on the stuff I have f/s as I need to get it out of the car first... it's sitting at the dealership lot right now and they promised I could take the stuff on monday.
I will post back here when I have all the stuff in my hand.

1 word for you... Unwind!

If they gave you a good deal on your trade it means you got grossed. They have to make their money; and they will. You never get a good deal when buying new from a dealership. If they can't put you upside down in a car because of your credit they will make money off the interest and back end.

Buying new vehicles you eat so much negative equity. At least buy 1 year old; 3 is best IMO.

GL with your new car. I wish you the best.

That is a great purchase. You should look into Power Axle's re-flash for your turbo.

enough to make it worth not trying to sell it privately. almost double what I could have gotten trying to kijiji it. That's pretty much why I did it and they are letting me pull my parts so I can unload most of them here.

Watch for a f/s link coming hopefully later today if not tomorrow.

Exactly. As nice as Hyundai is, I wouldn't go from a quality Japanese built vehicle to a cheap Korean vehicle, no matter the value or price difference.

But to each their own. Hope you enjoy it.

I looked really closely at the new maxima, and it boiled down to a couple factors:
1) regular scheduled maintenance on the maxima is more expensive than on the hyundia.
2) hyundia gave me a better trade in amount.
3) TURBO. from the factory.
4) Heated rear seats.

and non bose stereo.

I had my reservations about the hyundai, but they have been winning awards and the forum seems pretty active.

Congrats on the new ride man. Just want to let you know, for their service intervals at 30K and 60K, it cost $600 versus $430 for a maxima.

You'll be back!

No deal on the b&m shifter. It's got to stay with the car. Headlights and taillights will be posted hopefully tomorrow.

Congrats on your new purchase, my cousin sells Hyuindais for a living and he claims many luxury cars have been getting traded in for Sonatas/Genesis so who knows... Just sell it before you reach 100k miles/10 years and you'll be alright lol.

thanks!!

Update to the headlight situation:
For those that are interested... today I got the headlight/taillights from the dealership. I got all the wiring and the ballasts/bulbs/connectors etc. What I didn't notice was that those black brackets were not in the bag so.... I have to go back tomorrow and try to recover them.

I will have pictures hopefully tomorrow and a f/s thread to follow. Just have to clean everything up. btw maxgtr2000 did the headlights for me and those that know his work, know it's top notch. I took delivery of them in August. They lighting is simply awesome. But that's what you get with the tsx projector I guess.

Thanks for your patience and understanding.

This has to be the worst experinece with a dealership in the history of people buying cars. Not saying... just saying.

To those people that have doubts about the new Hyundai models, go test drive one first and your impression will be changed. I was the same way until i test drove a 2011 Genesis Coupe R-spec and now I have no regrets on purchasing it. Plus the fact that it is turbocharged and direct injection, good choice on the pick-up. Post pics if you can
