7 Year old daughter replaced my knock sensor

Lord knows I couldn't get my hands in there to get it out so I just used the 1/4" extension method, had her pull it, slapped the new one in and had her fish around until she was able to screw the bolt back into the block.

Now I'm taking her out for ice cream for doing such a good job.

Child labor FTW. I should include my 7 year old daughter in working on our vehicles too. She asks for "daddy" time, but I'm always too busy or too tired.

She kept hounding me to get out there to do it so we went at it and it didn't take us no longer than 20 minutes to do. I remember my first stab at changing a knock sensor, not fun.

Child labor? How do you think all our cars get built? It's a fleet of Asian children!

Yes, the engine is a lot smoother. I ran 93 octane for a week until I could get it replaced. Was getting serious sputtering when the engine was hot and now it's running as it should.

It's a wonder why Nissan even put it there. I had a member change out my first one when I was in MA because my kids were too young back then to help. I have a fed spec and I don't even have the type of room that Pmohr has on his car to fit my hands in there.

My daughter had half her forearm in there. Children are truely a blessing. LOL Saved me about 400 bones.

if only my 99 cali spec was that easy... it took me 2 days to position it right with the VERY LIMITED space in there.. man i HATE the fact that my 99 is a cali spec. but for the price i picked it up for and the mileage thats on it and its a 5 speed i couldnt resist.

^^ nice! Luckily, my hands can still fit in there for now. Have to do one but as you see in my recent thread, I bought one from the dealer but may end up taking it back..$181 is a lot of green..but I can say its in a box and not bubble wrap.
