Moved on to Honda...
So I sold my Maxima before i left to basic training for the army. Now im going through AIT (advanced individual training.) I get to have a car here so im buying my moms 1994 Acura Integra ls, its a five speed with only 85k original miles! So my question is would you consider this an upgrade or downgrade? My max was a badass car but this integra has lots of potential!
Thanks for any opinions!

I had one and I liked it. Had some decent pick up, but not as much as the maxima. And it's smaller. And honda's get stolen a lot.
The good thing is parts are cheap and they are easy to work on and last forever. Mine had 175k and no problems.

LOL, i was doing pt with the marine recruiters for a while before i enlisted but they didnt have the jobs i wanted. And yeah the integra is really nice. I love both cars, and the integra is IMO more fun to work with, idk why..

Well, you're on a nissan forum, so most likely people will say its a downgrade.
But as far as giving a generally unbiased opinion goes, I would say its a downgrade unless you wanted something that was better on gas. Other than that, you down graded in straight line performance, interior space and standard options. As far as potential goes, if you wanna talk mod for mod, its a downgrade IMO.
But other than all this, as long as you are happy with your desicion, it's an upgrade.

My car isnt gonna get stolen on a military base haha. and if the risk is that high what kind of security system do you suggest? Also i consider this an upgrade because its wayy cheaper to fix and mod, but i will most likely get another maxima in a couple years when i have more money. i drove the **** out of mine i love it to this day. My max caught on fire twice, i lost my virginity in it <--(hahahaha lmao.) and i drove it til it had 216k miles on it, yeah it was hard letting her go.

lo jack, nothing less. yes...hondas are one of the easiest to get jacked. someone i knew lived where i do...got his teg jacked..decided to get another...he moved to Tx to work on base, i guess he was in air force, took his teg there...not even a year passed before they stole it..easily he made the decision against getting another DC.

lol this base is tiny, there are hardly any civilians here. But well see haha i guess imma have to take a chance with it, maybe i should just make it reallly ugly but super fast so nobody will know and want to take it haha.

At the least... A coupe with a built k24/k20 hybrid ran one of our 3.5 swapped and cammed 4th gens not too long ago and the honda only started pulling away after he hit the spray.

Even better, or the k24/20 hybrid
Really? Im a bit surprised about that.
Ive seen K24 swapped hatches run some pretty fast times, although hatches are quite a bit lighter then the coupes.

Yup, I was pretty surprised too. It was actually a damn near dead even run till 4th gear, then he just shot off like a bat out of hell. But he's a cool guy and showed us the bottle.

Its not the civilians you have to worry about, its the soldiers that cant leave the street back home that you have to watch out for

Its going to suck giving up the interior room. I got a G coupe and it sucks sometimes cause the maxima was faster but the G is so sexy
But one good thing about the honda is the aftermarket support is crazy

Right now I have two Hondas and two Nismos.
1) 91 Q45
2) 95 Max 5-Speed
3) 04 Civic
4) 06 Ridgeline
There is an edgy performance feel that I believe started way back in the 60s with Prince Motor Company that makes driving a Nismo something fun and different compared to any other Japan based auto manufacturer's products.

And to the OP, I had a '98 GSR a few years ago. No, it didn't get stolen. It was too small for me and just as expensive to make fast IMHO since a K swap or FI is pretty much necessary for real hp gain. The max has more options but they are different cars. I hope you enjoy your 'teg though.

not hard to steal at all with or without the key

You probably mean a viper alarm system they are pretty good. My buddy had his hooked up so it would take like an hour for anyone who was trying to steal his car to turn the thing off. It was hidden behind the dash and a secondary backup battery was used also.

I had two integras a 98 Gs and then a 93 Ls. They were both great cars but I loved my 93 better. It must have been a mid week build car. With 275K on it that motor kicked ***. The guy who bought it from me drove 10 other cars and said mine was the most solid. I love my 97 SE and would not go back to a honda. Just my 02 good luck!

I had a 99 civic si electron blue pearl, honestly love the maxima more and I am not stressed about having it stolen as much. I got 3 years out of the civic before I sold it, never got stolen amazingly.

It's true, Hondas are teh ghey! They don't even make a sporty car anymore. All the new Acuras are HIDEOUS! Nissan is one of the few Japanese companies that have always offered a sports car selection. Gotta give them some love for that!
