What do you guys use to detail your max? How long on average does it take you guys? Im curious as to a good engine bay cleaner/degreaser and how to go about using it properly... Lets hear it!

How to detail? Thats a long process, takes a few hours

Wash with Meguiars Gold Class soap (don't bother to dry the car), clay with their clay bar, use their Ultimate Compound, use their NXT Generation Wax and finish with Duragloss spray wax. Takes me about 6hrs. I keeps it clean even in the winter:

By hand? I don't think so..

I've never had any problems, the products are just a little harder to work with. Nothing I can't handle..

Ya it's 4 in the mornin and I just got done using the clay bar and the NXT wax. So glad a got a huge garage!

if you can work inside a heated garage, thats different. the wax wont adhere to the clearcoat which is what your trying to shine up. it may look shiny and all, but believe me it does'nt work as well or last as long as when done in the summer/warmer months.

even if its not by hand i dont see how you can do all of that, well, in 2 hours...claying in itself takes about an hr if not a little bit more

I can wash my car in about 15 minutes ( I dont use a garden hose)

I can clay the car in about an hour. Anything with a buffer goes by fast.

Now If Im getting ready for something like IA or another large meet, that 2 hours is going to turn in to a day of work. Im not going to spend an entire day cleaning my car, because the weather around here is crazy. It can be 65 and sunny monday, and 12 and snowing by friday

i want to know how you plan on using a buffer to clay the car?...it takes another 30 minutes at the extreme least to wax the car, generally 45 minutes...hr to clay hr to 1.5hrs to compound it...

45 minutes to wax a car? What are you doing it in direct sunlight? Next gen wax wipes right off if you are in the shade. UC and next gen wax, I can do both in less than hour

so 15 for wash, 60 for clay, and 60 for compound and wax=135 or 2:15

Like I said though, thats not me going into great detail thats just the normal stuff I do once a month when I wax

Yeah this thread pretty pointless...but i will indulge.

I dont think you should have to detail yur car every wk. Detailing to me is carpet washing and deodorizing, cleaning engine, etc.

Detailing should occur prolly 3 or 4 times a year.

Washing and cleaning, waxing, vaccuming, thats every wk bro

Armorall protectant for interior, black magic wax and tire wet for the exterior. Black Ice tree for the pretty scent. After that bish CLEAN

and yes meguiars ultimate protectant is far better than anything else, also for a little bit less you can buy quick detailer for interior by meguiars. that works really good as well

Maybe I should have re worded this post.... I wasnt asking how to detail a car. I just wanted to know what all you guys did when you "detailed" your car. Thats all, I know how to detail a car, like I said I was just curious what all you guys did in your "normal" wash or detail?
